Located in the serene city of Udaipur, Pahuna Haveli is the present-day residence of Hanwant Singh and Hemant Kumari, a couple deeply rooted in tradition and culture. After spending many years in the tea plantations of Northeast India and the coffee estates of South India, Hanwant Singh—son of Brigadier Jaswant Singh—retired and returned to Udaipur with his wife to open their haveli to guests from around the world.
The haveli is named after their ancestral village Pahuna, located near Chittaurgarh. The Pahuna family descends from Viramdevji (younger brother of Maharana Pratap), the son of Maharana Udai Singh, the founder of Udaipur in 1559 A.D. While the original ancestral home still exists in the village, the family’s Udaipur residence—Pahuna Haveli—has been lovingly transformed into a welcoming heritage homestay.
